December 1st is #GivingTuesday, which is in its own words a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
Social responsibility and finding a way to give back to transform our communities is something that is front and center of what we as Pro Skills Basketball aspires to do not only financially but with our time. Between PSB support staff, city leaders, coaches, and players, we have 2500+ members in our ecosystem, and truly believe through our time and presence can have a material impact on making the world a better place beyond the basketball court.
COVID prevented our team from getting out deep in the community on Giving Tuesday, but we as an organization still wanted to find a way to spread positivity in the world.
Inspired by all the incredible work that Service Salute does, we asked all of our PSB support staff, leaders, coaches, and players to write letters to front line workers thanking them for doing what they do to keep us safe. These front line workers include doctors, nurses, and teachers – folks who work selflessly every day to serve their community. Check out this brief video in which we seek to explain why giving back is so important to us.
