This month in our Alumni Spotlight, instead of focusing on one individual player, we are shining the light on our 10 alums who are all participating this month in the DI NCAA Tournament, including 9 players and 1 coach (listed below in alphabetical order by last name)!
Michael Buckland – Lipscomb
Michael played on our 2015-16 17U Elite team and has since gone on to become a starter at Lipscomb. They play against another PSB alum Walker Miller and his North Carolina squad in the first round on Friday at 2:45pm on CBS.
Bates Jones – Davidson
Bates played for PSB during his high school years at Charlotte Latin. He is one of 5 PSB alums on the Davidson Wildcats. They play on Thursday in Boise versus Kentucky at 7:10pm on CBS.
John Meeks – Bucknell
John was a member of our 17U Elite team during the 2016-17 season is currently a freshman on the Bucknell Bison. Bucknell won the Patriot League for the 2nd year in a row and plays on Friday at 7:10pm against Michigan State.
Walker Miller – North Carolina
Walker played for our 17U Elite team also during the 2016-17 season. Despite having multiple full-scholarship offers at mid to low DI schools, Walker decided to take a recruited walk-on spot for the Tarheels, following in the footsteps of his older brother, Wes Miller, who, coincidentally, is the head coach of UNC Greensboro, another NCAA Tournament team!
Kishawn Pritchett – Davidson
Kishawn played for PSB beginning in the 9th grade and continued on to Davidson. After redshirting his first year due to major knee surgery, he is now a starter in his sophomore season for the Wildcats. You can read more about Kishawn in our previous Alumni Spotlight on him.
Rusty & Will Reigel – Davidson
Rusty was a member of our inaugural 17U Elite team during the 2014 spring/summer AAU season. Still one of our hardest playing alums out there, Rusty comes off the bench bringing toughness and energy to the Wildcats team.
Rusty’s older brother, Will, was an assistant coach with Brendan Winters on the inaugural 17U Elite team on which Rusty played. The following year, Will accepted a position with Davidson and has been on staff ever since then as an assistant coach.
Ben Robertson – Bucknell
Ben Robertson teamed up with Michael Buckland as part of the backcourt of our 17U Elite team during the 2015-16 season. He gets good minutes for the Bison and occasionally wows the crowd with spectacular dunks!
Jordan Shepherd – Oklahoma
Jordan joined Michael and Ben on our Pro Skills 17U Elite team also during the spring/summer of 2016. As a member of the Oklahoma Sooners, Jordan backs up Trae Young.
Jordan Watkins – Davidson
Jordan was also one of the inaugural 17U Elite players during his high school days at Providence Day School in Charlotte. A PSB legend, Jordan is destined for some great things ahead!
We’re extremely proud of each and every one of these young men, and we wish them the best of luck this week in their NCAA Tournament games!
