He began his career at Duke University, where he played as a guard from 2009 to 2014, contributing significantly to the 2010 NCAA National Championship team and helping secure multiple ACC titles. Over his collegiate career, Dawkins played in 142 games, scored 1,042 points, and established himself among Duke’s all-time leaders in three-pointers made and three-point shooting percentage.
Following his time at Duke, he played professionally with the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, several NBA G League teams, and internationally, earning recognition for his three-point shooting, including ranking 25th all-time in G League history for three-pointers made and recording the second most threes in a single G League game.
Transitioning to coaching, Dawkins served as an assistant and then head coach at Mount Saint Mary Catholic High School, where he led the team to multiple tournament championships, compiled a 41-13 record over two years, and was named the 2024 NCRVC Coach of the Year. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Duke and is known for his ability to mentor athletes, develop game strategies, and build successful basketball programs.
