Your city staffDC leadership
James Maerder, Director
James has coached basketball in the DC area since the spring of 2015. From 2017-21, he coached with St. John’s College High School at the freshman, JV, and Varsity levels. He served as an assistant coach with Catholic University Men’s Basketball from 2021-22, and has returned to coach with St. John’s for the 2022-23 season. James lives in Silver Spring with his wife Nicole and his son Quinn.
Jaden Wehausen, Boys General Manager
Jaden Wehausen is the Boys General Manager for PSB DC. A Prince George’s County native, Jaden was a four-year varsity athlete at Gwynn Park and St. Charles High School.
Jaden played for PSB DC on the Townsend 17U team. Jaden joined the PSB DC staff in January 2026 as a 4th grade head coach and became the boys program manager in April.

As an organization, Pro Skills DC is what a travel team should be like. They truly set the standard. I wish we'd have joined them years ago, but better late than never. The club is really well organized program and the communication is everything we could want. The coaches teach good stuff and try to make sure each kid develops and has a good experience. The teams bond together, which makes it even better. Parents hung out on trips too.

What does PSB DC offer?
Youth basketball club teams, clinics and academies for boys and girls in the Washington, DC area.
Is Pro Skills Basketball DC a good program for beginners?
Yes. PSB DC clinics and academies welcome new players and teach the fundamentals of basketball. Trained, background-checked coaches lead every session. Club teams hold tryouts and play a full season, so most beginners start with one of these programs first.
What grades can play?
Club teams for grades 1 to 11; clinics for grades 2 to 12; academies for grades 2 to 9.
Does PSB DC have AAU basketball teams?
PSB DC runs club teams, which many families call AAU basketball: tryouts, teams grouped by grade and skill, weekly practices with trained coaches, and games and tournaments through the season. PSB is an independent club program and is not part of the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU).
