Why ages 8 to 12

The years that shape a player

Movement skills and hand-eye coordination grow fastest in these years. We use this window to build good habits before bad ones set in.

4x

Players touch the ball about four times more per minute in structured, small-sided training than in a standard scrimmage.

01

Peak skill growth

Research shows movement skills and hand-eye coordination develop fastest between ages 8 and 12.

02

Touches over tactics

Small-sided, high-rep drills keep the ball in every player’s hands. More touches mean faster growth.

03

Confident habits

We teach shooting form, footwork and decision making now, before bad habits become muscle memory.

School Priority Policy

School comes first

We want players on their school and feeder teams, and we never compete with them. When a school event clashes with PSB, the school event wins. It never affects a player’s place with PSB.

Grades 3 to 5 often have no structured, development-focused basketball. We fill that gap and prepare players all year to succeed on their school teams.
