Testimonials
  • I signed my son up for one of their summer camp sessions in 2024 and it was fantastic! He then joined their club team. It’s been a phenomenal experience for my son and our family. PSB is the premier youth basketball program in the Richmond area. My son has developed his skills on the court but has also developed a better work ethic. The director of the program Rasheed Wright and all the coaches do a great job of teaching the game of basketball and also help the youth develop traits that will help them in all facets of life.

  • Definitely a well organized club with a spirit of excellence! I wish I knew about them 5 years ago!
    Susan R.
  • Great coaching staff who teach high-level basketball while promoting good attitude and sportsmanship.

  • My son is now in his second year with ProSkills as a 4th grader. What separates this program from others, is the leadership and culture. The program humanizes the experience of playing competitively as a child. It is a safe environment where players can grow and understand that you aren't always going to be the best one on the floor, or that you are always expected to win. It teaches that evolving as a player is a process, and it is OK to "fail" along the way. If you want a balanced program where your child can develop their skills, travel and play competitively, and learn about sportsmanship and values through exceptional leadership, this is the program to join.

  • This is our second year with PSB and we have really enjoyed and appreciate all that the staff and coaches have done to teach great skills and build confidence. Our family has had some REAL challenges this year that we were not expecting and everyone has been wonderful especially the families of PSB for support ❤️ It’s definitely not all about winning, but building confidence and teams that learn and grow.

Richmond Leadership

Portrait of Rasheed Wright

Rasheed Wright, Director

Rasheed grew up in Greensboro, NC and went on to play college basketball at Old Dominion University, where he had a stellar career.

After college, Rasheed played for 13 years professionally in France before retiring and moving back to the Richmond, VA area, where he joined PSB in 2019.

Rasheed also assumed the role of head coach for the Manchester High School girls’ basketball program and, over the course of five years, has guided the team to two state championship appearances, securing one title. These achievements mark the first state championships in the school’s history. As a result of his exceptional leadership, Rasheed was honored with the 2024 State, Regional, and Richmond Metro Coach of the Year awards.

He lives with his wife, Rebecca, and 4 daughters in Midlothian, VA.

FAQs

Our Club Teams typically run 8–11 months depending on the city. Families can expect 2–3 practices or workouts per week and 2–3 weekends per month with games or tournaments. We believe in long-term development, not quick-hit seasons.

We support multi-sport athletes! Many of our players compete in soccer, football, baseball, and more. Just let us know your schedule, and we’ll work together to find the best fit — whether that’s a Club Team or placement in our Player Development Academy with more flexibility.

We offer flexible payment plans in every city. In some locations, limited scholarship or financial aid options may also be available. Reach out to us directly to learn more — we’re here to help.

Not every player is placed on a Club Team, but no one gets left behind. Through our Player Development Academy (PDA), athletes receive structured training, weekly practices, and internal game play — with the opportunity to be reevaluated for a Club Team during the year.

In most cities, we host open clinics, camps, or evaluation sessions prior to the start of the season. These are great opportunities to experience our coaching and culture firsthand. Reach out to your local director to see what’s available near you.
