PSB Enjoyed Running Nike Youth Basketball Camps in China!

Recently, Brendan Winters, Director of PSB Charlotte, and Ross Schraeder, Director of PSB Denver, returned from their 16 day trip to China where they directed Nike Youth Basketball Camps.

For the first week, Brendan ran three 2-hour “camps” per day in Shanghai while Ross was in Hangzhou also running three 2-hour “camps” per day. For the second week, Ross joined Brendan in Shanghai at the University of Sports for two 2-hour camps per day for 6 days.

Brendan and Ross both had a fantastic time teaching the game of basketball to young kids in China much like they do here in the States.

Summer is finally upon us, which can only mean one thing…it’s summer basketball camp season! Here at Pro Skills Basketball, we are entering our 8th year of hosting summer basketball camps, and we have more camps than ever lined up in June, July and August, specifically 21 camps in 5 different US cities as well as 3 Nike basketball camps in China!

Personally, I love basketball camps! Growing up, my summers we packed with week after week of basketball camps….and maybe there was a baseball camp thrown in there one summer, but that’s beside the point. Camps were crucial for my development socially and athletically. NEWS: 2016 SUMMER BASKETBALL CAMPS SCHEDULE RELEASED

 

Pro Skills Basketball is excited to announce our 2016 summer basketball camp schedule.  In addition to Charlotte, NC, Sacramento, CA and Denver, CO, PSB will be launching basketball camps in Greensboro, NC and Boston, MA this year.

Our summer basketball camps are dedicated to teaching basketball fundamentals to kids in a safe and enjoyable environment. Our summer camps include games, competitive basketball drills designed for kids of all skill levels.

With a staff of experienced coaches and players, these events provide a great opportunity for kids to learn from players who have had success both on and off the court. All camps are open to boys and girls in grades 3-8.

What College Coaches Look For in Recruits 2What do college basketball coaches look for in recruits?

The spring NCAA basketball “evaluation” periods are coming up the next two weekends in April and then again repeating for 3 weeks in a row in July.

During this time, college coaches are allowed, per the NCAA, to watch AAU basketball teams in person around the country in order to evaluate potential college prospects.

I thought it’d be a perfect time to write about what these college basketball coaches look for when evaluating a potential college basketball recruit. Parents and players (and even AAU coaches) often times have no idea what college scouts are looking for in their evaluations, so they end up focusing their energy and efforts on the wrong things.
