We’re very excited to announce that the Twin City Jazz, the “brother” program to the Winston-Salem Stealers girls organization, based in Winston-Salem, NC will be merging with PSB Winston.
The Jazz, led by Craig Clark, will now have the opportunity for their coaches, players, and parents to join the Pro Skills Basketball family by playing with our PSB Winston teams and attending our various other programs and events in Winston-Salem and surrounding areas.
Brian Robinson, Program Director of the Stealers and Jazz said of the opportunity, “Merging the Jazz with Pro Skills will provide our participants with opportunities to become better basketball players year-round. Pro Skills has an established culture that fits what we are looking for. When you combine that with the avenues they can provide for our current and future participants, it was an easy decision.”
This is an exciting opportunity to PSB for a variety of reasons, but we’re especially looking forward to having to having the opportunity to positively impact even more kids in the Winston-Salem area.
This merger gives PSB Winston an even larger base than it already had, and with that, the ability to offer even more outstanding basketball opportunities in the NC Triad area.
PSB Winston is led by Joe Rybak who is a former DII college basketball player and current teacher and boys varsity basketball coach at Calvary Day School.
Of the merger, Coach Rybak, said, “This merger automatically makes our Winston presence stronger and gives us access to a large facility with the Gateway Y, where we can host large, high-quality events. But most importantly, the Jazz coaches, parents, and players are a great fit with who we are and what we do at Pro Skills. It’s just a win-win all the way around!”
For 2019, PSB Winston now expects for field 2-3 boys teams in every age group from 3rd through 11th grade. These teams will be based out of the Gateway YWCA as well as Calvary Day School and other surrounding area gyms.
PSB Winston will also host a few large camps at the Gateway YMCA, possibly including an NBA player camp, a high school showcase camp, and more to come!
