Memphis Leadership
Dennis Velasco, Director
Dennis was born and raised in Queens, NY, graduating from CUNY Queens College twice, earning a Master’s degree the second time. He’s written about basketball for ESPN TrueHoop, The New York Times’ About, Sports Illustrated, SLAM, and other hoops publications.
Dennis has worked with USA Basketball, is NFHS Coach Level 3 Certified, a member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, as well as the Basketball Trainers Association, and is currently the Varsity Girls Basketball head coach at St. George’s Independent School in Collierville, TN. He lives in the Memphis area with his wife, Daniela.
