Pro Skills Basketball Charlotte AAU team tryouts are now open for registration, and we can’t wait to get our 2019 club team season up and running!
We’re making a ton of improvements to our AAU team structure nationally which you can read about in part 1 and part 2 of previous announcements, but we want to also update you on the upgrades we’re making to our PSB Charlotte AAU team structure.
PSB Charlotte AAU Teams Improvements & Structure
Areas/Locations
This year we’re offering teams in 3 areas, including north, central and south Charlotte. North consists of north Charlotte, Lake Norman, Concord, etc, Central Charlotte includes Uptown, Dilworth, Myers Park, Southpark, etc and South Charlotte consists of Ballantyne, Waxhaw, Fort Mill, etc. In each area, local schools, churches, and rec center gyms will be used for practices.
Grades
In all areas, we will offer boys teams in grades 2-11. The big difference from last year is adding a 2nd-grade option in each area and the high school option in the south Charlotte area.
NOTE: The 2nd-grade teams will NOT play games in the spring/summer season, but rather just practice and prepare for games come the fall/winter as 3rd graders.
Membership
As we’ve said, the major improvement for 2019 is extending the team membership to 11 months.
The spring/summer and fall/winters season setups will remain the same offering flexibility for all players to play other sports or participate in other activities, but this will enable us to truly create the best basketball experience possible as explained in the past emails.
The membership will be broken into even, lower installments of $165/month.
Competitive and Showcase Camps
This summer we’ll offer competitive camps for our elementary and middle school players and a showcase camp for our high school players.
PSB Charlotte elementary and middle school players will have the option to attend competitive camps in Charlotte or Winston-Salem.
High school players who are not invited by the NCAA to one of their new live period camps will attend a showcase camp in Winston-Salem where we’ll combine high-level skill work and competitions with the opportunity to showcase skills to college coaches and scouts.
NOTE: Our normal week-long summer camps will still be available as well.
Fall/Winter Season
We’re extremely excited to now have the fall/winter season (Sept-January) as part of the membership. This is going to be so beneficial for every player from elementary through high school.
For elementary and middle school players, we’ll be able to focus on individual skills in the fall/winter without missing a beat team-wise in fall and winter league games as they have practiced and played together all spring and summer.
For high school players, we’ll be able to better help these players make their JV, Varsity, and/or get recruited to play in college (if that’s what they want) through our pre-season and in-season workouts and mini-camps led by high-level coaches and trainers.
Under Armour Rise Circuit
With over 80 PSB alumni now playing college basketball, this season our 9th Grade Elite, 10th Grade Elite, and 11th Grade Elite teams will be joining the Under Armour Rise circuit, which is a brand new second circuit that Under Armour is running under the same roof as their Under Armour Association circuit.
This will be a great opportunity for our best high school teams to showcase their skills in front of hundreds of college coaches and media. Our Elite Academic teams will also have the opportunity to play in the regional UA Rise tournament. More information on the UA Rise circuit can be found here!
Under Armour Future Circuit
We think the time is right to offer another competitive option to our middle school players, so along with the Rise circuit, PSB Charlotte is going to be fielding one 6th grade, one 7th grade, and one 8th grade team on the Under Armour Future circuit, which consists of 2-3 regional travel tournaments in which our teams will play against other extremely competitive teams in our region.
These 3 PSB UA Future teams will be made up of the best players from each of our area tryouts this February. More information on the UA Future circuit can be found here!

Charlotte AAU Basketball Tryouts
Charlotte AAU Basketball Tryouts will be held on Sunday afternoons in February for boys in grades 2-11. Again, this season we’re offering a 2nd-grade team that will not play games in the spring/summer but will simply practice twice a week and then begin to play games as 3rd graders in the fall/winter.
