Pro Skills Basketball is thrilled to announce the launch of our Showcase Basketball Camps in 2018! We have teamed up with some great partners to launch 2 different camps: Academic Showcase Camps and Paul Biancardi Basketball Camps.
Academic Showcase Camps
PSB has partnered with former Amherst College coach and Washington and Lee player, JD Ey, to hold a series of Academic Showcase Camps designed to educate players and parents on getting exposure, handling the recruiting process, financial aid options and other details about high academic college basketball.
We will launch our first High Academic Showcase Camp in Charlotte, NC on March 24 and 25. We will then be in New York City on May 12 and 13, followed by Austin, TX and Columbus, OH in September. Dates on Austin and Columbus will be announced very soon. Sign up is now available!
If you’re a serious high school basketball player with good grades that wants to attend one of the many top academic institutions in America, this event is for you. If you desire to play DI, DI or DIII basketball, our High Academic Showcase Camp will be a tremendous help in understanding how to make your goal a reality!
Below are our top 3 benefits of attending a PSB High Academic Showcase Camp.
# 1 Play in Front of College Coaches
PSB has worked hard to get coaches from the top academic institutions to come work our High Academic Showcase Camps. All camp coaches will have some affiliation with a college or university. With a significant portion of our events geared towards playing live, 5-on-5 games, players will have a great opportunity to showcase their skills in front of college coaches.
Even if a player desires to attend a school that is not present at the camp, a great lesson for parents and players to learn is COACHES TALK! For some players, a great experience at this camp can and will lead to interest from schools that are not present. Players must know that every time they step on the court, someone is watching and evaluating. The more coaches you can play from across all different levels, the better!
#2 Learn How to Get Noticed
For some players, getting noticed is not only about what you do on the court. And that’s not a bad thing! Our High Academic Showcase Camps will teach players what college coaches look for when filling out their rosters. If you think that all coaches want 1-on-1, highlight reel players, you need to come to this camp!
Getting noticed by coaches is also about what you do off the court. Do you have a highlight film? If so, what is it like? What camps should you go to? What tournaments should you play in? Should you go on unofficial visits? Have you sent out emails to coaches? If so, what did they say? Should you pay for recruiting services? If so, which ones? As you can see, there are many questions that need to be asked when it comes to planning for your college recruitment.
#3 Learn from Those With Experience
Over the last 8 years, PSB has helped send players to some of the top academic institutions in the U.S., including Princeton, Yale, Haverford, Davidson, Bowdoin, Bucknell, Columbia, and more. Also, both PSB co-founders played at Davidson College and Camp Director, JD Ey, played and coached at two of the top DIII schools in the country. Because of this, we have developed a strong network with DI, DII and DIII coaches.
Moreover, PSB has developed a reputation for professional and honest events that seek to cut through all of the noise that comes with college basketball recruiting. We hold a genuine desire to help players and parents through the recruiting process to the best of our ability.

Paul Biancardi Basketball Camps
We’re also extremely excited to have partnered with Paul Biancardi, ESPN’s National Recruiting Director for Boy’s High School Basketball, to help run his Paul Biancardi Basketball Camps for middle school and high school players.
The first Paul Biancardi Camps will be held in Charlotte May 5-6 weekend at Myers Park High School. May 5th will be for middle school boys players in grades 6-8 while May 6th will be for high school boys players in grades 9-12. Sign up is available now!
Coach Biancardi has had a deep and highly successful career in the game of basketball. He played and was a captain at Pope John High School and Salem State College. At Salem State, he played for current Minnesota Timberwolves head coach and president Tom Thibodeau.
Coach Biancardi then went on to coach at the Division III level and then onto 20 years at the Division I level including stops at Boston University, Boston College, Ohio State University, Saint Louis University, and Wright State University, where he was named Horizon League Coach of the Year.
Currently, as we said, he serves as the National Director of Recruiting at ESPN where he is responsible for ranking, grading, and evaluating the nation’s best talent.
The Paul Biancardi Basketball Camps are going to be fun, first-class camps with outstanding instructors and teachers of the game. Coach Biancardi will lead the camp and will speak to the campers on a variety of topics while Pro Skills Basketball will be in charge of camp operations to ensure an organized and productive experience for all.
The camps are for serious players who want to grow in the game. We want each camper to be the best version of themselves. Players will need to be focused and attentive to details as we teach them aspects of individual and team play. We will put campers in competitive situations with limited time making it a no-nonsense camp that stresses effort, improvement, and team play.
Players will take part in individual and group/team drills to increase their basketball skills and IQ as well as games where they’ll be able to put their skills to the test and see where they stack up against the competition. Our goal is to prepare players for future competition and challenges.
It’s the offseason, so it’s time to take the next step. If you love the game, want to improve your game, and learn the game, then come and join us!
